Paarl | Oude Chardonnay Estate
In this duplex dwelling, a leak had developed from the waste-water pipe under the first-floor shower through to the kitchen on the ground floor below. The FdT maintenance team performed a leak detection test to locate the problem area. To reach the interconnecting 110mm sewer pipe, where the leak was, the entire bath needed to be removed. Once the repairs were completed, the FdT team reinstalled the bath, bricked up the bath wall and retiled the walls and floor, resulting in a brand-new, upgraded bathroom.
Inospace Business Park | Cape Town
A collapsed sewer line in the Inospace Business Park, determined with a camera inspection in the sewer line, led to repairs being conducted at night so as not to disrupt the operations of the business park. This included chopping up and removing sections of tarmac and paving to reach the problem pipe. The FdT team restored the area to operational functionality the following night.
Cape Town | Bishopscourt
At this Mother City residence, a burst water-supply pipe in the roof caused damage to the ceilings, built-in-cupboard and fitted carpets. The FdT plumbing technician replaced the burst pipe and brought in dehumidifiers to absorb the damp and dry the carpets. The FdT maintenance team repaired the cupboard and replaced sections of carpet
Johannesburg | Houghton Estate
FdT Construction and Plumbing was called in to attend to a burst 200l geyser in the roof of this home. As the trap door was too small for the replacement geyser to fit through, it was necessary for the team to remove some of the roof tiles and underlying wooden structure. Once the new geyser was installed, the FdT maintenance team replaced the wooden structure of the wood trusses and refitted the roof tiles, replaced the bathroom ceiling and repainted the bathroom walls using a specialised paint technique, and replaced specialised moulded skirting boards and laminate flooring.
